Hopkinsville coach Keith Marquess was named the Region I girls’ coach of the year after leading the Lady Tigers to a second place finish Sunday at the region meet.
The award is voted on by the region’s coaches.
Under the guidance of Marquess, the Lady Tigers have finished first or second at the region meet six straight years. The Lady Tigers had five swimmers finish in the top three and three relay teams finish second or third.

Hopkinsville has been left behind in Swimming and Diving! We need new blood and a more local and state funding into or sports! We do not have anyone or clubs promoting swimming and Diving anywhere in Our community! They intentionally left out swimming lanes at our YMCA so that didn’t have to hold swimming and Diving events! Our New High School has to have a new pool and Diving facilities! Or else!
