The Lyon County Lyons completed a perfect run through the district portion of their schedule Tuesday night. The Lyons took a 21 point first-quarter lead and never looked back as they routed the Livingston Central Cardinals 95-47 in Smithland.
The 95 point total was the second straight game and the fifth time this season that the Lyons have topped the 90-point mark in a game.
Lyon County led 32-11 after the opening quarter. That lead would grow to 56-23 at the half as the Lyons just simply had too much firepower for the Cardinals.
The Lyons kept the pressure on as the second half got underway. By the end of the quarter, the lead had grown to 80-32. With the running clock underway, Lyon County reserves would see all of the action in the final quarter as they cruised on out to the final 48 point margin.
Jackson Shoulders was at the top of the scoring list for Lyon County with 23 points. Travis Perry chipped in with 14, while Brady Shoulders finished his night with 13 points.
Max Downey was the only player from Livingston Central to reach double figures, ending the game with 22 points.
Lyon County moves to 17-5 on the year, while Livingston Central drops to 3-19. The Lyons will travel to Muhlenberg County Thursday night.
