Ohio County Girls Rally to Nip Caldwell County 70-68

Caldwell County’s girls were sitting pretty with a 38-21 halftime lead at Ohio County on Saturday afternoon.

However, a big third quarter by the home team tied the game, and the Lady Eagles went on to pull out a 70-68 victory.

Ohio (13-13) outscored the Lady Tigers 30-13 in the third quarter to erase the 17-point halftime deficit and knot the game at 51-51.

Rain Embrey scored 21 of her game-high 29 points in the second half to help lead the Ohio charge. Shelby Probus added 11 points.

Caldwell, now 10-16, had four players score in double figures. Brylee Butts led the way with 23. Morgan Aikins had 13 points, Parris Gray 12 and Katy Smiley 11.

The Lady Tigers will be in action again on Monday when they host Livingston Central at 6 p.m. at the CAB gym.
