
Caldwell County’s girls led wire-to-wire while dispatching Livingston Central 48-24 Monday night at the CAB gym in Princeton.
The Lady Tigers scored the first eight points of the night as part of a 14-2 run to open the game.
Livingston got back to within 14-6 after one quarter, but that’s as close as the Lady Cardinals would get the rest of the contest.
Caldwell (11-16) rolled into a halftime with a 25-11 lead, and held a double-digit advantage throughout the second half.
Brylee Butts scored 10 of her game-high 15 points in the second half as the Lady Tigers stretched the final margin to 24 points.
Caldwell also got 12 points and 11 rebounds from Katy Smiley. A.J. Hollowell added eight points.
Maggie Downey had six points to lead Livingston, which is now 10-16.
Caldwell’s girls will entertain another former 5th District rival on Tuesday when Trigg County visits Princeton. It’s the final game of the regular season for the Lady Tigers.
Caldwell will host the 7th District tournament next week.
