Former Caldwell County star Derrin Boyd pumped in a game-high 29 points, but his 12th-ranked Georgetown Tigers fell at No. 8 Thomas More 85-59 in Mid-South Conference basketball action on Thursday.
The Tigers are now 22-6 overall and third in league play at 15-6.
Boyd was 10 of 20 from the field, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. He made 5 of 6 from the foul line.
Boyd also recorded five rebounds, two assists and a steal, but Thomas More swept the regular-season series with the Tigers.
Georgetown will host Shawnee State for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers need to win their regular-season finale, and have Cumberland beat Tennessee Southern, to claim the No. 2 seed for the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
Thomas More (24-3, 18-2) will be the No. 1 seed.
