The Lyon County Lyons continue their perfect run through the 2nd Region Thursday night. The Lyons used a second offensive explosion to get past the Webster County Trojans 89-72 in Dixon.
The Lyons put up 56 points over the final two quarters en route to their 21st win of the season. The Lyons have now won 17 straight games over 2nd Region opponents. Their last loss to a 2nd Region team came to Hopkinsville in the opening round of last year’s 2nd Region tournament.
The Lyons opened quickly Thursday night, taking a 21-10 lead after the opening quarter. Webster County would fight back and trim the lead to 33-26 at the break.
The Lyons then put up 32 points in the third quarter as they ran the lead out to 65-48. The two teams would then play an even 4th quarter as the Lyons picked up the double-digit win.
Travis Perry finished with 29 points for Lyon County. Jackson Shoulders added 20. Jack Reddick threw in fourteen for the Lyons.
Webster County’s Deshawn Murphy led his team with 25 points. Bradin Nelson had 15 points for the Trojans.
The win moves Lyon County to 21-6 on the year. The Lyons get back to action Friday night when they host Hopkins Central.
Webster County wraps up the regular season at 13-16.
