Hopkins County Central girls’ head coach Phillip Cotton has been selected 2nd Region Coach of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.
The regional coaches awards were announced Friday morning by the KABC.
“I’m truly honored to receive this award! I would like to take the time to thank my players for this achievement. This is only possible because of their hard work & dedication. It’s all about THEM!!” Cotton posted on social media.
The Lady Storm is 17-8 this season.
Hopkins Central won the Kentucky 2A Championships Section 1 tournament in January and played in the 2A state tournament in Owensboro.
The Lady Storm is the No. 2 seed for next week’s 7th District tournament and will face host Caldwell County in semifinal action on Monday.
Hopkins Central finishes the regular season Friday night at Henderson County.
