Kentucky fans Alex Miller and Maria Montgomery are back together for a new music video showcasing Miller's new hit — "Through With You."

Garrard County’s Alex Miller continues to push his music career forward in a big, big way. You remember Miller. He was the American Idol sensation and sang the national anthem at the Kentucky-Tennessee football game. He has also played at venues across the country since his American Idol exposure.

Now he’s released a new single — “Through With You” and the companion music video that premiered Friday on Wide Open Country — and will be hosting duties on two episodes of Country Fix airing over the next two weeks.

“When (videographer) Steve (Kinney) and I put our heads together for the video concept we knew we wanted to take the opportunity to show that alcohol abuse hurts not just the abuser, but all those around them as well. Abuse breaks everything — hearts, minds, and bodies,” Miller said.

Miller’s latest release is a sad ballad with his country touch and comes as a result of advice he got on American Idol.

“I tried to take the advice that Luke Bryan and Katy Perry gave me on Idol and that was to reach a little bit, to see who I am as an artist and what really fits. This song is definitely a very different style for me, but at the same time it’s very true to me as it comes from a real personal experience. I hope they’ll be proud of me,” Miller said.

Miller wrote the song with his producer Jerry Salley and the song is part of his upcoming debut album coming on Billy Jam Records. The single issued to radio via Play MPE  is available for purchase on all streaming platforms.

Miller’s video star is well-known UK fan Maria Montgomery of Boyle County. She was host of UK basketball activities and is also a national model as well as a spokesperson for various businesses in Kentucky. She was featured in another Miller video — “Don’t Let The Barn Door Hit Ya” last fall.

Also featured in the video is former UK basketball player Tod Lanter.

Shot in Hendersonville, Tenn., locations include a deserted warehouse and an upscale suburban home. Montgomery is an angry young woman packing her bags because of her partner’s descent into an alcohol-fueled fury and depression. The video seems so genuine and believable as Montgomery and Lanter both do terrific jobs and Miller’s song is both special and heartbreaking.

Miller, 18,  is also hosting two episodes of Country Fix, a weekly 30-minute program hosted by country music artists. It airs on multiple television networks and stations worldwide and reaches over 100 million households weekly. He is on episode #393 through Sunday.

“I had a blast doing these shows,” Miller said. “And it’s always good to see what other artists are up to.”
