Off to her best start in three seasons for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, former Christian County standout Emmy Blane had another first over the weekend. Blane hit her first collegiate home run in UK’s win over LIU in the Florida Atlantic University Strikeout Cancer Classic.
Blane’s blast was a two-run shot to left-center that extended the UK lead to 10-1. The home run came after Blane drove in the first two runs of the game with a double, also her first of the season, in the second inning.
Blane is currently batting .303 for UK with 10 RBIs.
