Around 50 Caldwell County students from various teams and organizations turned out Saturday morning for a Cleanup Day at Princeton Golf Club, joining members to pick up brush and debris.
Like the nearby neighborhoods, the Princeton golf course was heavily damaged by the Dec. 10 tornado which tore through the area. Repair efforts have been underway since to get the course back to playable condition.
The course reopened nine of its 18 holes for play by Princeton Golf Club members following Saturday’s cleanup. The “road side,” or holes 1 and 11-18, are now playable. It will likely be later this summer before play is allowed on holes 2-10. Much of hole No. 2 was turned into a landfill following the tornado.
YSE was there Saturday morning and got some shots of the cleanup effort.
