Madisonville’s Perdue Shuts Down Lady Lyons 7-0

Hayleigh Perdue fired a three-hitter as Madisonville-North Hopkins blanked Lyon County 7-0 in season-opening softball action Monday in Eddyville.

The Lady Maroons put up a three-spot in the top of the first inning, then added two-run frames in the third and sixth innings.

Chloe Young was 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI for Madisonville while Mackenzie Stoltz was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and a run batted in.

Lyon was limited to singles by Calista Collins, Jenna Coursey and Emma West in the setback.

Perdue struck out five and walked just one while 60 of her 88 pitches were strikes.

Lyon’s girls will go to Muhlenberg County on Tuesday while Madisonville next plays at home on Thursday against Owensboro Apollo.
