A former Hopkinsville High School and Western Kentucky University graduate has been named as the coach to lead Christian County football in its final season before merging with Hopkinsville to form the new Hopkinsville Christian County Academy.

Blake Ladson played football and basketball at Hopkinsville before graduating in 2002.  From there he went to West Virginia University to continue his career on the gridiron, redshirting in his only season with the Mountaineers.  Ladson played his final three seasons at Western Kentucky University.

He has served as an assistant coach in stints with the Tigers and the Colonels over the last 12 years.  He was on staff with the Colonels for the program’s only undefeated regular season in 2017.  He was on the sidelines for the last three seasons with the Tigers, including the run to the 4A state semifinals in 2020.

Ladson inherits a Colonel team that has fallen on hard times lately, winning only three games over the last three seasons.
