Caldwell Tracksters Open Season at Marshall All Comers

Caldwell County’s track teams opened the season Tuesday at the Marshall County All Comers Meet in Draffenville.

For Caldwell’s boys, Dewey Riley won the 100-meter dash in 11.85 seconds, edging Marshall County’s Tyler Orlandi by a tenth of a second.

Riley took second in the long jump at 18 feet, 10 inches. That was just one inch behind champion Cole Mills of Marshall County.

Riley was fourth in the 200 dash in 24.74 seconds. Crittenden County’s Tristan Davidson won that event in 24.12 seconds. The Tigers’ Isaiah Joyner was seventh in that event in 25.30.

Joyner claimed the triple jump competition at 42 feet even. That was almost 3 feet farther than anyone else.

Joyner was sixth in the high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches.

Blaine Hicks took fifth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:22.60.

Cooper Mobley placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 36 feet, 5.5 inches.

Timothy Nichols was eighth in the 800 run in 2:26.84.

The Tigers finished fourth in the team standings. Marshall County was first with 136 points. Graves County was next with 52, followed by Ballard Memorial (51) and Caldwell (48.5).

Meanwhile, Caldwell’s girls were third with 46 points, trailing only Marshall (119) and Ballard Memorial (61.5).

Jordan Ortt won the triple jump at 27 feet, 3 inches. T.J. Goodwin was third at 22 feet, 6 inches.

Ortt finished seventh in the 800 run in 2:57.61. Annabelle Rushing was eighth in that event in 2:02.84 and Addyson Schott was ninth in 3:08.80.

Avery Wells was second in the 100-meter dash in 14.09 — .18 seconds behind Marshall’s Charley Pursley.

The Lady Tigers’ Mariah Merritt was seventh in that event at 14.57.

Wells was also sixth in the long jump at 13 feet, 4.5 inches. T.J. Goodwin was ninth in 12 feet, 7.25 inches.

Kylee White took second in the 1,600 run in 6:05.07, trailing only Gabby Ault of Paducah St. Mary, 6:00.77.

Ava Pickett placed seventh in the high jump at 4 feet even.
