Lady Rebels Make Their ‘Case’ in Win Over UHA

The Todd County Central Lady Rebels took advantage of some generous pitching from University Heights to pick up a win in their season opener Thursday evening in Elkton. The Lady Rebels were the beneficiaries of 12 walks as they took the 10-0 five-inning win in Elkton.

The Lady Rebels got the win despite coming up with just three hits in the contest.

Todd Central scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning thanks to three walks, an error, and a two-run single off the bat of Sam Case.

The Lady Rebels would convert three walks, two passed balls, and an RBI single from Sam Case in the second inning to three more runs as the lead grew to 6-0.

The Lady Rebels would score four more runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. Again, the big hit came off the bat of Sam Case, who drove in two runs with a double following a couple of walks to lead off the inning.

Case ended the game 3-3 with a double and 5 RBIs. Case was the only Lady Rebel to garner a base hit in the game.

Krista Keller, Jaila Batey, and Emily Davis had one hit each for the Lady Blazers.

Abigail McPherson went the distance for the Lady Rebels, giving up just three hits while striking out five.
