Lyon County sophomore Travis Perry was named to the all-tournament team of the 2022 UK Healthcare Boys’ Sweet 16 Friday.

Perry scored 21 points and added seven rebounds and five assists in the Lyons’ 59-57 quarterfinal loss to Covington Catholic.

In Lyon County’s opening win Thursday over John Hardin, Perry scored 26 points and again had seven rebounds and five assists.

He is the first player from Lyon County to be named to the state all-tournament team. Lyon County last advanced to the state tourney in 1951 but no one from that team was selected.

He is the 57th player from the 2nd Region selected to the all-state tournament team since regions were created in the early 1930s and the first since Madisonville’s Kenny White in 2019.

He also joins Livingston Central’s Don Ringstaff (1959), Dotson’s Dwight Smith (1963), Caldwell County’s Greg Smith (Caldwell County), and Trigg County’s Eddie Radford (1970) as players from 5th District schools selected to the state all-tournament team.
