
Avery Wade pitched a three-hitter to lead Trigg County past Mayfield 5-1 Friday at the Complex.
The win moved the Lady Wildcats to 4-1 – the first 4-1 start in program history.
Wade struck out five and didn’t issue a walk. The run she allowed was unearned, lowering her season ERA to 1.22.
Trigg scored twice in the third inning when Kiley Slone singled and stole second. She scored on a Rylee Hendricks single. She came around to score on a Mayfield error.
Mayfield got their run in the fourth on an RBI single by Shelton.
Trigg added two more runs in the fifth. Kaylin Keller led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Rylee Hendricks drove home Keller for the 3-1 lead. Hendricks later scored on a wild pitch after stealing her second base of the game.

Trigg finished its scoring with a run off a Mayfield passed ball in the sixth.
Rylee Hendricks had two hits and two RBIs for Trigg with Keller and Slone adding singles.
Trigg got the win despite five errors in the field.
Trigg County moved to 7-4 all-time against Mayfield and beat the Lady Cardinals for the first time in seven years.
The Lady Wildcats are already more than halfway to last year’s win total with a 4-1 record. Trigg County will play a pair of games Saturday at Ballard Memorial against the Lady Bombers and Paducah Tilghman.
