Led by three top-five finishes by Autumn Bell, Christian County took eighth place at Saturday’s Invitational of the South track and field meet at Marshall County High School.

Bell won the triple jump and finished second in the 200 and 400-meter runs.  For Bell, it was a glorious return to the 400 meters – an event she hasn’t run in several years.

The Lady Colonel senior was named the event’s outstanding female athlete for her work on the track.

Jayda Johnson also produced a top-10 finish for the Lady Colonels by clocking in seventh place in the 400-meter run.

As a team, Christian County finished in eighth place with 42 points. There were 23 schools that scored points at what proved to be the largest track and field meet in western Kentucky since the Covid shutdown two years ago.
