Colonels Record Four Top-Fives at the Invitational of the South

Christian County scored a pair of top-five individual finishes and two relay finishes inside the top-five Saturday at the Invitational of the South track and field meet at Marshall County High School.

As a team, Christian County finished in 14th place with 31 points. There were 19 schools that scored points at what proved to be the largest track and field meet in western Kentucky since the Covid shutdown two years ago.

COLONEL FINISHES

Camden Britton – 2nd in the 800-meter run (2:13.17); 8th in the 1600-meter run (4:55.19)

Jaiden Northington – 4th in the 400-meter dash (53.38)

Demetrius Holloway – 9th in the 300-meter hurdles (47.54); 11th in the 110-meter hurdles (19.73)

Jarae Leavell – 9th in the long jump (19-01.00); 14th in the triple jump (33-05.50)

TreCoreus Blanton – 10th in the 100-meter dash (12.31); 12th in the 200-meter dash (25.01)

Michael Webb – 10th in the 3200-meter run (11:40.93)

Jermaine Dove – 12th in the 400-meter dash (56.40)

Xavier Quarles – 17th in the long jump (18-05.50)

Christopher McCarley – 20th in the discus throw (105-06); 31st in the shot put (35-04)

Cyrus Greenwade II – 27th in the 200-meter dash (26.50)

James Thomas Miles – 32nd in the 800-meter run (2:35.87)

The 800-meter relay team took second place in a time of 1:35.94.

The 400-meter relay team finished third in a time of 46.19 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team finished in seventh place with a time of 3:49.14.

The 3200-meter relay team came in 10th place in 9:46.89.
