Caldwell County staked pitcher Ben Goodaker to a 4-0 lead early, and the junior hurler fired a five-hitter in Friday’s 9-2 win over Webster County at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton.
The right-hander struck out nine and did not allow an extra base hit while surrendering just one earned run.
The win was the third-straight for the Tigers, who opened the season with back-to-back losses.
Goodaker spoke with YSE following the complete-game effort.
