
After a pair of losses to start the season, the Fort Campbell softball team pick up its first victory with a 15-4 rout of hosts Clarksville Christian on Monday night.
The Lady Falcons got RBI singles from Kiley McCrary, Katelyn Griffey, and Alexsa Hoffman to move in front 4-0 after their first at-bat.
Clarksville Christian got a run back in the top of the 2nd before Fort Campbell answered with McCrary’s three-run inside the park home run to stretch the advantage to 7-1.
The Lady Falcons poured it on in the 4th, starting with McCrary’s triple to drive in her fifth run of the game. Griffey followed with an RBI double, and Nadia Valez singled in a run for a 12-1 score. Finally, Anika Weisbrich capped the Lady Falcons’ big night with a home run to centerfield that brought in Hoffman and Valez.
In addition to her performance at the plate, McCrary also did the job in the circle. She allowed three earned runs on four hits with four walks and 14 strikeouts to earn the win.
Griffey was 3/3 with a pair of RBI, McCrary collected three hits, Weisbrich had two hits and three RBI, and Valez drove in two runs.
