
After finishing among the state’s leaders in scoring for the 2021-2022 basketball season, Caldwell County’s Jabrion Spikes is being recognized for his efforts on the basketball court. It was announced Wednesday that Spikes had been named to the Herald-Leader’s 2nd Team All-State Boys’ Basketball team.
Spikes, along with Warren Central’s Jaiden Lawrence, were the two players from the western half of the state to be named to the 2nd team.
Lyon County’s Travis Perry and Bowling Green’s Turner Buttry were the players in the western half of the state to make the first team.
The All-State teams are voted on by the coaches across the state.
Spikes ended the year averaging 30.7 points per contest, scoring 860 total on the season. He shot 57.2 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from behind the 3-point line, and 62.1 percent from the line.
Spikes was the team’s leading rebounder at 11.9 per game.
