After leading the Lyon County Lyons to a 2nd Region championship and to the quarterfinal round of the Sweet 16, where they dropped a heartbreaker to Covington Catholic, the postseason honors are starting to come in for Travis Perry. It was announced Wednesday that Perry had been named to the Herald-Leader’s 1st Team All-State Boys’ Basketball team.
Perry, who just finished his sophomore season, joined Bowling Green’s Turner Buttry as the only players in the western half of the state to make the first team.
The All-State teams are voted on by the coaches across the state.
Perry finished the season averaging 27.5 points a game. He had 990 total points for the season.
He shot 48.9 percent from the field, 38.2 percent from behind the arc, and 81.9 percent at the free throw line.
Perry also averaged 5.7 rebounds per game.
