Two nights after the Crittenden County Rockets let a big lead slip away in a district baseball matchup against Lyon County, the Rockets traveled to Hopkinsville to take on the University Heights Academy Blazers, and again took a big lead. This time, however, there would be no comeback for the Blazers as Crittenden County, led by a strong pitching performance from Jeremiah Foster, took a 15-2 win in cold and damp conditions.

The Rockets broke on top in the top of the 2nd inning, scoring three runs to take a 3-0 lead. RBI singles from Jeremiah Foster and Seth Guess did most of the damage. Crittenden would add a run in the top of the third to extend the lead to 4-0.

Foster and Maddox Carlson connected for RBI singles in the fourth to help the Rockets plate another three runs and push the lead to 7-0.

Crittenden County put the game away in the top of the 5th with eight runs. The first six Rockets to come to the plate in the inning all reached base to ignite the big inning.

The Blazers avoided the shutout with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. 8th grader Jackson Flynn drove in a pair of runs with a one-out single to wind up the scoring for the game.

Crittenden County hurler Jeremiah Foster kept the Blazer bats in check for the full five innings, allowing UHA just two hits. Both of the hits came off the bat of Jackson Flynn.

Logan Bailey had a big night for the Rockets, going 4-5 with 3 RBIs and two runs scored.

UHA drops to 5-4 with the loss. The Blazers are back in action Friday evening when they host Christian County in an 8th District contest.
