Nashville point guard Kennedy Cambridge cannot wait to play Blair Green, left, and Emma King, right.

Nashville guard Kennedy Cambridge won’t join the Kentucky basketball program until June but she already has bonded in a special way with veteran players Blair Green and Emma King.

“They are the best of the best,” said Cambridge, who made her commitment to UK public last week. “You will never find two people who genuinely care so much about you. I have already got two new sisters in less than two months.”

The 5-8 guard let the UK staff know over a month ago that she was coming to UK but did not want to make it public until her state championship season ended at Ensworth School.

Green attended Cambridge’s official college announcement last week.

“I didn’t even see Blair until maybe the last hour of my visit at Kentucky,” Cambridge said. “We went to an escape room. Everybody else was very competitive.

“Escape rooms are not my thing and me and Blair were not very good. We pretended like we were trying to help. When it came time to punch the code to get out we were ready to go.”

Kentucky senior Blair Green drove to Nashville for future teammate Kennedy Chandler’s commitment announcement.

Green missed last season with an Achilles tendon injury. She is returning for a redshirt senior season and King will also be a senior next season.

“I met Emma right at the beginning of my visit and really, really liked her,” Cambridge said. “After I left Kentucky, I just kept talking to them. They are both so amazing.

“I knew Blair was coming to my announcement. People say a lot of things and you never know what to believe but she actually showed up and that made my whole day. I just can’t wait to be on the team with both of them.”
