A former Christian County golf standout picked up a Top 10 finish this week at a collegiate golf tournament in Gulf Shores. Hannah Sumner, playing for Lindsey Wilson College in the Carey Collegiate, finished the event with a three-day score of 232, which was good enough to place her 7th in the tournament.

Sumner finished 11 shots behind Danielle Owens, from Southeastern University, who won the event with a three-round score of 221.

Sumner’s teammate Malene Clausen finished in 3rd place with a 229.

Sumner entered the final round of play just three shots out of the lead but had some struggles during the middle part of her final round and ended up shooting an 80.

Up next for Sumner will be the Mid-South Spring Championship, which will be played in Crossville, Tennessee.
