
Marshall County scored six runs in the top of the first inning and went on to beat Caldwell County 14-3 in five innings.
The Lady Tigers were hurt by six errors in Friday’s softball game at the Ratliff Park Complex in Princeton.
Brylee Butts drove in all three runs for Caldwell, including a two-run home run to left in the bottom of the first inning.
But Marshall (5-3) scored in every inning while picking up the win.
Madyson Morton led the Lady Marshals at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double. She drove in three and scored three times.
Emily Garland was the winning pitcher for Marshall, blanking the Lady Tigers over the final three innings on two base hits.
Just three of Marshall’s runs were earned.
Caldwell (6-4) is now off until Monday, April 11, when it travels to Livingston Central for a first round game in the 2nd Region All A Classic.
