Hampton, Shelton Finish 17th at KBN Event

4-2-hampton

Anglers at the Kentucky Bass Nation stop on Kentucky Lake this week had to deal with fluctuating water levels on Kentucky Lake, a drop in temperature from midweek, and just finding enough isolation from others on the water.

Despite those factors, Trigg County’s Hunter Shelton and Jordan Hampton finished 17th out of 65 boats that left the Moors in Marshall County and the 42 that returned with fish.

The duo caught two bass weighing 5.03 pounds with a big bass of 3.73 pounds. The winning team, Brett Cheek and Landen Dale of Jessamine County, caught five bass weighing 11.19 pounds.

The big bass of the day weighed in at 4.14 pounds.

Hampton and Shelton will now head to Branson, Missouri and compete in the Major League Fishing’s high school division stop on April 9. The duo finished second out of 90 boats in the event last year.
