Livingston Central freshman Skylar Padon was a hit away from five perfect innings on the mound on Monday, and the Cardinals pulled away from hosts Fort Campbell for an 11-1 victory.

The Falcons slip to 1-10 with an 8th-District matchup with University Heights coming up on Tuesday.

Livingston posted four 1st-inning runs and chased Falcon starting pitcher Thomas Roach, but it looked like Fort Campbell would have success at the plate as well when Ethan Egner smacked a leadoff double.  Egner eventually came home on an error, but the Falcons wouldn’t reach base again.

The Cardinals stretched the lead to 7-1 on RBI singles by Aiden Fugate and Ethan Ramage in the 4th, before finishing things off with four more runs in the top of the 5th.

Padon struck out six and didn’t issue a walk on the way to the shutout victory.  Ramage had two hits and drove in three runs for Livingston, and Carson Binford and Zion Myers each had two RBI.

Roach took the loss on the mound for the Falcons, allowing four earned runs on a hit with a pair of walks.  Robert Dennis worked the remaining 4.2 innings, surrendering seven runs, four earned, on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

The Cardinals, winners of four of five to improve to 5-8, will look to keep their hot streak going when Ballard Memorial visits on Tuesday.
