Jackson Sivills has found a new college basketball home, announcing Thursday morning that he has committed to Wofford University in South Carolina.
Sivills was an all-state player at McCracken County High School and played in 14 games as a freshman, averaging 7.1 minutes per contest.
Allowed to reclassify as a freshman in 2021-22 due to COVID-19 regulations, Sivills saw his playing time drop to just four minutes a game, seeing time in 15 contests.
Sivills became part of the mass exodus of players from the Murray State program when Matt McMahon took the LSU job and MSU hired former coach Steve Prohm.
Wofford, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, finished 19-13 in 2021-22 and lost to conference champion Chattanooga in the tournament semifinals. The Terriers graduated three seniors from last year’s roster with two of them shooting guards.
Jackson’s father Scott is the head basketball coach at McCracken County and a Trigg County High School alum. He played at Murray State and was part of three OVC championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances. Will’s grandfather Scott served as the mayor of Cadiz from 1986-93.
