Caldwell County has won five of its last six baseball games after starting the season 0-2.
One of the reasons for the quick turnaround is the pitching of junior right-hander Ben Goodaker.
Goodaker is 3-0 on the season, earning wins in each of his last three appearances.
Goodaker sports a 0.88 earned run average, allowing just three earned runs and 12 base hits in 24 innings pitched this season.
He had 31 strikeouts and eight walks.
Last season, Goodaker went 5-2 with a 2.95 ERA. He struck out 40 in 38 innings.
