Miscues in the field and not being able to make contact with the ball at the plate were a tough combo for the Fort Campbell Falcons Saturday. Sophomore Andres Garcia Ortiz pitched a five-inning no-hitter as West Creek rolled past the Falcons 14-0.

West Creek took advantage of seven Fort Campbell errors as they scored in each inning to pick up the win. West Creek scored five in the first, four in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth, and one more in the fifth to reach their 14 run total.

Garcia Ortiz struck out three and walked six for West Creek.

Aidan Blaszkowski got the start for the Falcons but lasted just 1 1/3 innings. Ethan Egner finished out the game in relief. The duo combined for five strikeouts and four walks. They gave up 14 runs, but due to the errors in the field, only six of those runs were earned.

The Falcons now drop to 1-11 on the season. They are set to return to action Monday when they host Lyon County in the quarterfinal round of the 2nd Region All A Classic.
