2011 Caldwell County graduate Laykin Peek was named as the new Hopkinsville High School volleyball coach on Wednesday, replacing Jessica Shepherd after four seasons and a 34-79 record.
Peek was a member of the 2010 2nd Region and All-A state championship team at Caldwell, the only public school squad to win a state title of any kind.
She had 105 kills and 25 total blocks as a senior before moving on to play at Brescia University.
Peek becomes one of two former Lady Tigers as head coaches in the 2nd Region, joining her former teammate, Bayley McDonald, at Crittenden County.
