Mother Nature has just not been good to the 2nd Region All A Classic baseball tournament. After causing delays in the event all week long, the weather continues to cause issues with getting the tournament completed.

The UHA Blazers used a big second inning and a strong pitching effort from Eston Glover to advance to Saturday’s semifinal round of the 2nd Region All A baseball tournament. Glover limited Livingston Central to just one hit over five innings as the Blazers rolled past the Cardinals 11-2 in a game played at Fort Campbell High School that was stopped going into the bottom of the 5th inning with the Blazers holding the nine-run lead to due to weather conditions.

UHA took the early 1-0 lead when Ryan Luckey led off the bottom of the first with a single. Luckey later scored on an error after he stole third base.

The Blazers then ripped the game open in the bottom of the second. UHA took advantage of three walks, a hit batter, and a Livingston Central error to spark the 8-run rally. Jaiden Miles had the big hit in the inning with a three-run double.

University Heights extended the lead to 11-0 in the bottom of the third. Ty Hunt drove in one run with a single, while the Blazers scored two more thanks to a Cardinal error.

Livingston would score two runs in the top of the fifth just ahead of the game being stopped.

Jaiden Miles led the offensive attack for the Blazers, going 2-2 with a double, three RBIs, and a run scored. Ryan Luckey, Ty Hunt, Ian Tyler, and Jackson Flynn, all drove in a run for UHA.

Eston Glover picked up the win on the mound, going five innings, giving up two runs, neither of them earned, on just one hit, striking out eight, while walking two.

UHA improves to 7-6 on the season. The Blazers will have to wait until Monday to find out their semifinal opponent in the tournament. The Crittenden County-Dawson Springs game was stopped going into the top of the third with the Rockets leading 2-0. That game is now set to be completed Saturday afternoon in Marion.
