A team that reached the second round of the 2021 Class 6A football playoffs is among the latest list of teams to be announced as participants in the 2022 Best of the West 7-on-7 to be held this summer in Hopkinsville. Officials announced Friday morning that Bullitt East, along with Trigg County and Stratford High School are among the teams that will be participating in this year’s tournament at the Stadium of Champions and Tiebreaker Park.
The Chargers from Bullitt East were 8-4 last season, falling to Male in the second round of the 6A playoffs. Senior-to-be Travis Egan passed for 2614 yards and 30 touchdowns last season. His top two targets from last season are also slated to return. Nolan Davenport caught 69 passes for 1143 yards and 19 touchdowns. Camron Brogan added 67 receptions for 955 yards and 8 scores.
The Macon County Tigers finished the 2021 season with a record of 8-4. The Tigers lost to #10 Red Bank in the second round of the Tennessee Class 4A playoffs.
Stratford High School went 3-8 during the 2021 season. The Spartans ended their season with a 20-0 loss to #6 White House in the Tennessee Class 3A playoffs.

More teams are expected to be announced next week.
This year’s Best of the West 7-on-7 is set for July 15 and 16.
