Two runs in the 5th inning proved to be the difference Friday night in Todd County Central’s 3-1 loss at Butler County.  The Lady Rebels have alternated wins and losses over their last six games to stand at 10-7 on the season.

Down 1-0 in the top of the 3rd, Todd Central evened the game on Sam Case’s sacrifice bunt, and the tie held until the bottom of the 5th.

Butler County led off the frame with a single, and a hit by pitch put two on.  The go-ahead run came home on a passed ball before Karrington Hunt’s sacrifice fly made it 3-1.

A one-out single by Todd Central’s Karli Herrera brought the tying run to the plate in the 7th, but a strikeout and a pop-out ended the game.

Abigail McPherson took the loss in the circle, pitching six innings and allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts.

Avery Gleason earned the win for Butler County, scattering five hits with four walks and four strikeouts.

The Lady Rebels have a big district matchup at Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday.  Both teams are 0-1 in 13th-District play.
