Jaila Batey is now a school record holder for the University Heights Academy track and field team.

The Lady Blazer senior added nearly eight feet to her previous personal best in the discus throw and came away with a toss of 91 feet Saturday to finish second at the Coach J Invitational at Fort Campbell.

Batey’s throw beat Ragen Pollard’s school mark set last year by seven feet. Batey now owns four of the five longest throws in UHA school history.

Batey’s record gave her a second-place finish Saturday.

With a limited roster competing, UHA finished in 12th place out of 16 schools with 13 points.
