Eighth grader Jenna Coursey hit her first varsity home run on Tuesday to help Lyon County claim the 2nd Region All A Classic championship.
Coursey’s three-run shot in the third inning was part of a 17-hit attack by the Lady Lyons in a 14-4 victory over Caldwell County.
That earned Lyon a trip to the state All A Classic in Owensboro later this month. The Lady Lyons captured the state championship there last year.
YSE spoke with Coursey after Lyon’s win in the regional finale.
