Caldwell County got home runs from Alicia Stanley and Harper Holeman, but No. 4-ranked Henderson County left Princeton with a 15-5 softball victory in six innings on Friday.

But the Lady Tigers held the lead through three innings against the 2nd Region favorite.

Down 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Caldwell got a one-out double from Brylee Butts, then a two-out home run left-center from Alicia Stanley to grab a 3-2 lead.

However, undefeated Henderson (14-0) went back in front with four runs in the top of the fourth.

A two-run single by Mallorie Stone put the Lady Colonels up 4-3, and the visitors never trailed again.

Hallie McCracken’s two-run homer to center was part of an eight-run fifth inning that extended Henderson’s margin to 14-3.

The Lady Tigers (8-7) kept the game going in the bottom of the fifth when Holeman delivered a two-run shot to right field with two outs.

But Henderson went up 15-5 in the top of the sixth, then blanked Caldwell in the bottom of the inning to wrap up the game on the 10-run mercy rule.

Kaytlan Kemp was 4-for-5 at the plate with a triple and three RBIs for Henderson.

She was also the winning pitcher, tossing the first four innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out seven.

Stone was 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in two while Anna Willett was 3-for-4 and knocked in three.

Butts was the only Lady Tiger with more than one base hit, going 2-for-3.

Caldwell’s girls are next scheduled to host Graves County on Monday.

Henderson is set to host Gibson Southern (Ind.) on Saturday.
