Two big innings were the story for the Hopkinsville Tigers Tuesday night. Hoptown scored six runs in the second and then seven runs in the bottom of the fourth and got a solid pitching performance from sophomore Lucas Kaetzel as they rolled past the Fort Campbell Falcons 15-0 in four innings.

It was the Tigers’ second win over the Falcons in the last eight days. Back on April 18, Hoptown defeated Fort Campbell 11-0 in five innings.

Tuesday night, Kaetzel limited the Falcons to three hits over four innings and never really let Fort Campbell mount a serious offensive threat. Kaetzel struck out five and walked two during his time on the mound.

The Tigers plated two runs in the first. The big hits were RBI singles from Zach Moss and Joseph Boor.

Hoptown would add six more runs in the second. Two Fort Campbell errors helped open the door to the big inning. The Tigers would then end the game with a seven-run fourth inning. RBI doubles from Zach Moss and Mason Spain helped to key the outburst.

The Tigers would score their 15 runs on a total of ten hits.

Zach Moss had a big night swinging the bat. Moss finished 2-4 with a double and 5 RBIs. Joseph Boor ended up 2-4 with 3 RBIs. Mason Spain was 1-2 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored.

Fort Campbell’s three hits came off the bats of Aidan Blaszkowski, Angel Garcia, and Chase Cribbett.

Hoptown improves to 7-10 with the win while the Falcons drop to 3-17.
