
Christian County’s Karlee Crick drove in five runs on Wednesday, including an absolute bomb of a three-run home run, to lead the Lady Colonels to a 16-0 victory over hosts University Heights.
The Lady Colonels win their fourth in five outings to improve to 15-6 overall, 3-0 in 8th-District play.
A Gracie Harned RBI single was part of a three-run 1st inning, and Christian County added four more runs in the 2nd, including a two-run single by Crick.
Back-to-back RBI singles by Pickle Winkler and Riley Hancock kicked off a nine-run 3rd. Crick came to bat with two on and no outs and crushed Regan Pollard’s second pitch into the woods well beyond the left-field fence for a 12-0 lead.
Three straight RBI doubles by Kaleigh Shaw, Chloe Craft, and Winkler stretched the margin to 15, and Avery Adcock added the final run with an RBI single.
Hancock started in the circle for Christian County and had a strikeout in an inning of work. Harned took over from there, issuing one walk and striking out four over two frames.
Crick was 3/3, Winkler had three hits with an RBI, and Harned drove in a pair of runs.
Pollard took the loss for UHA, allowing 15 earned runs on 11 hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
The Lady Colonels welcome Lyon County to Hopkinsville on Thursday. Christian County was a 17-6 winner over the Lady Lyons in Eddyville on April 2.
