Rebels Improve to 16-5 by Routing West Creek

There must have been something in that food or water down on the Gulf Coast. The Todd County Central Rebels picked up their 8th straight win since returning from their Spring Break trip, cruising past West Creek 13-3 Wednesday night.

The Rebels scored in every inning but the second in the six-inning contest. Todd Central put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to reach the 10-run rule.

The Rebels broke through early with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. The big hit was an RBI triple off the bat of Gavyn Nolan.

After West Creek cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the third, the Rebels came back in the bottom of the inning with two runs on a Tanner Farmer single.

Preston Rager blasted a two-run home run to center in the fourth and Tanner Farmer drove in another run with a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead to 7-1.

West Creek made a move to try and get back in the game with a couple of runs in the top of the 5th to cut the margin to 7-3. But the Rebels got the two runs right back in the bottom half of the inning. The big hit being an RBI double from Devin Schutt.

The Rebels then sealed the win in the bottom of the 6th. The game ended on a two-run single from Grady Reding.

Tanner Farmer was 2-2 for the Rebels with two runs driven in. Gavyn Nolan finished 2-3 with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored.

Preston Rager, Tanner Farmer, Jacob Brandon, and Grady Reding had two RBIs each for Todd County Central.

Jase Paul Hampton got the win on the mound for the Rebels. He went three innings, giving up one run on two hits, striking out six while walking one.

The Rebels are now 16-5 on the season and are set to be back in action this weekend at the South Warren Lumberjack Classic.
