Tate VanHooser Has 4-Hit Game in Rend Lake Win

Former Caldwell County standout Tate VanHooser had a four-hit game as his Rend Lake College team defeated Olney Central College 10-7 on Wednesday.

VanHooser doubled and singled as part of a six-run second inning, homered in the fourth and singled in the sixth.

VanHooser, who is Caldwell’s all-time home run leader, finished the day 4-for-5 with two runs batted in and three runs scored.

It was the third homer of the season for VanHooser, who is now hitting .296 this season with 19 runs batted in for the Warriors.

VanHooser finished his high school career with 15 home runs to set the Caldwell County mark.

VanHooser also owns the single-season home run record with the Tigers, hitting 10 as a sophomore in the 2019 season.

Olney came back to take game two of Wednesday’s doubleheader 17-7.

Rend Lake is hosting Wabash Valley College Thursday afternoon.
