Lyon County held a send-off and pep rally Friday morning for its baseball and softball teams, which will both be competing in the All A Classic state tournaments this weekend.
The Lady Lyons are headed to Jack Fisher Park in Owensboro for pool play on Saturday. The single-elimination portion of the softball tourney is set for Sunday.
The Lyons will travel to Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond for quarterfinal round action against Hazard at 11:30 a.m. Central time Saturday. The state semifinals and championship are set for Sunday.
The teams walked the hallways at Lyon County Schools, starting at the middle school, going through the elementary school and finishing at the high school, leading to the pep rally in the gym. Students and faculty lined the halls to wish the teams good luck.
