
Christian County scored three early runs, and Riley Hancock made them stand up as the Lady Colonels handed Logan County a 3-2 loss Saturday at CCHS.
Hancock allowed just five hits and struck out two. Neither of the two runs she allowed was earned.
The Lady Colonels struck first after Pickle Winkler led off with a double and moved to third on a bunt single by Hancock. Karlee Crick scored Winkler on a sacrifice fly to center field.
Logan County took a 2-1 lead in the third inning on singles by Shayla Johnson and Hailey Burgess. Christian County’s second error of the inning came in a ground ball and scored Burgess.
The Lady Colonels battled back to claim a 3-2 advantage in the home half of the third. Winkler and Hancock again did the damage to lead off an inning with a pair of singles. After a sacrifice by Avery Adocock, Crick tied the game with a single to right field.

Courtesy runner Jada Miller stole second and moved to third on a fielder’s choice. She then stole home to put the Lady Colonels in the lead for good.
Hancock retired eight of the last nine batters she faced to move her record to 11-3. Winkler and Hancock had two of Christian County’s six hits at the plate. Crick had two RBI.
Burgess was one of five Logan batters to reach on singles and had the lone Cougar RBI.
