Aalaisha McGregor’s two-out, three-run home run capped a four-run rally that saw Christian County stun Madisonville with a 7-6 win Saturday afternoon in Hopkinsville.

Christian County entered its final at-bat down 7-3. A pair of insurance runs by the Lady Maroons in the top of the sixth inning extended its one-run lead to three.

Pickle Winkler led off the seventh inning with her second hit of the afternoon — a double. Riley Hancock followed with a sharp single to center that advanced Winkler to third. Avery Adcock singled to right to score Winkler and cut the Madisonville lead to 6-4.

After Mackenzie Stoltz induced a fly out and a strikeout, McGregor saw a 2-1 pitch and sent it over the center-field fence for her second big fly of the season. It was her only hit of the game but it was a big one as the Lady Colonels flipped the script on Madisonville, who walked off a 3-2 win in eight innings against them 12 days ago.

It also marked the second straight year that McGregor has homered on April 30.

The Lady Colonels outhit Madisonville 12 to 8. Winkler, Hancock, Adcock, Karlee Crick, and Gracie Harned each had two hits with Adcock adding a pair of RBI.

Harned got the win in the circle with five strikeouts and four earned runs allowed.

Madisonville got two hits each from Brenna Sherman, Stoltz, and Kennedy Justice.  Back-to-back first-inning doubles by Jaycee Noffsinger and Sherman staked the Lady Maroons to a 2-0 lead. An RBI groundout later in the first increased the advantage to 3-0.

Christian County tied the game at 3-3 in the second. Madisonville retook the lead with a run in the third. An error and a sacrifice fly saw Madisonville add two more runs in the sixth inning.

Christian County (19-7), playing its fifth game in three days, will host Marshall County Monday.

Madisonville (15-3), who beat Logan County earlier in the day 11-0  to extend its winning streak to seven games, will host Daviess County Monday.
