
The Todd County Central baseball team saw a nine-game winning streak halted on Friday with a 7-2 setback to South Warren at the Lumberjack Classic.
The Rebels now stand at 16-6 with matchups against Barren County and Owensboro on Saturday.
Trailing 1-0 in the top of the 4th, Todd Central evened the game on Gavyn Nolan’s RBI double. South Warren broke the deadlock in the 5th on Eli Capps’ RBI single, before the Rebels again tied things up in the top of the 6th.
A five-run 6th was decisive for South Warren, with run-scoring singles by Preston Parks and Trevor McNaughton putting the Spartans in front ahead of a two-run double for Dalton Sisson.
Will Kearns took the loss on the mound for the Rebels, working three frames and allowing six runs, three earned, on six hits with a walk.
Jackson Joiner earned the win for South Warren, pitching two innings and allowing a single earned run on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
