Ballard Memorial limited the Fort Campbell Falcons to one run over twelve innings as the Bombers swept a pair of games from the Falcons Saturday afternoon. Ballard won the opener 6-0 and then completed the sweep with an 11-1 five-inning win.

In the first game of the afternoon, Bomber hurler Braxton Blankenship pitched six scoreless innings as Ballard took the win. The Bombers got the only run they would need in the bottom of the first.

Ballard added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the bottom of the 6th.

Andrew Haughenberry had two of the Falcons’ five hits in the game. Felipe Hernandez, Tyler Hansen, and Noah Herron had one hit each.

Angel Garcia pitched six innings for the Falcons, giving up six runs, four of them earned, on six hits, striking out four, and walking four.

The second game of the day saw the Bombers take advantage of four Falcon errors to score in each of their four at-bats en route to the 11-1 win. The Bombers scored two runs in the first, three in the second, five in the third, and one more in the fourth.

The Falcons would finally get into the scoring column in the top of the 5th thanks to a pair of Bomber fielding miscues.

Andrew Haughenberry had the only hit in the game for the Falcons.

The Falcons drop to 3-23 on the season. They are set to get back to action Monday when they travel to Heritage Christian.
