Crittenden County welcomed Trigg County to Marion with a five-run first inning, and the Rockets went on to post an 11-1 victory over their 5th District foe on Senior Day.

Crittenden hurler Logan Bailey gave up just one earned run on five base hits in Saturday’s five-inning contest. He struck out two and walked none.

Maddox Carlson slammed a leadoff home run to right in the second inning as part of a 3-for-3 day that saw the senior drive in three and score twice.

Benjamin Evans was 3-for-4 for the Rockets with an RBI while Seth Guess went 2-for-3 and knocked in three.

It was a walk-off single to center by Guess that drove in the game-ending run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Crittenden scored three times in the frame to reach the 10-run mercy rule.

Mathew Leeper drove in the only run for the Wildcats in the fourth inning with a double.

Crittenden is now 12-9 overall and 3-2 in the district.

Trigg is 9-16 and 0-3.

The Rockets sweep the regular-season series after also winning 10-2 at Trigg on April 28.

The Wildcats will host Lyon County on Monday while the Rockets visit Livingston Central.
