Though it took an additional day, Kentucky baseball pulled off a major upset this weekend with a series win over the No. 1 ranked Tennessee Volunteers. The Wildcats won Thursday’s game (3-2) and jumped ahead in Friday’s game before being postponed due to weather. The two teams wrapped up that decision on Saturday (5-2, Kentucky) before Tennessee took the series finale (7-2). After a hot start to the season, Kentucky has had a rough stretch over the last month and a half. The Wildcats are 12-18 in their last 30 games, but this weekend’s win over the country’s best team could spark a solid run to end the season. Kentucky has one game vs. UT Martin, a series at South Carolina, a home game vs. Tennessee Tech and a season finale series vs. Auburn.
