The Christian County Colonels’ late-season skid reached four straight Monday evening. Logan County used a three-run fifth inning to come from a run down and take a 3-1 win over the Colonels on Senior Night at Christian County High School.

The Colonels got to the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Elijah Underhill led off the inning with a home run to left field, putting the Colonels up 1-0.

For much of the game, it looked as if that run was going to hold up as Christian County’s Lane Gamble and Logan County’s Chance Sweeney shut down the opposing team’s offense.

Logan County made their move in the top of the fifth inning. The Cougars used three singles, a walk, and an error to score three runs and take a 3-1 lead.

The Colonels would have runners reach base in the bottom of the fifth, the bottom of the sixth, and the bottom of the seventh, but could not find a way to push across any more runs and cut into the Logan County lead.

Elijah Underhill was 2-3 with a home run and an RBI for Christian County. Josh Snorton, Brylle Javier, and Hayden Hunt added one hit each

Lane Gamble took the loss for Christian County. He went five innings giving up three runs, only one of them earned, on five hits, striking out two while walking three.

The loss drops the Colonels to 23-7. They finish out the regular season Thursday at Madisonville-North Hopkins.
